Gathering at the Beach
I apologize for the long delay in between posts, but the summer has gotten away from me and now our family is knee-deep in school and all its associated activities.
We had a nice gathering today at the Lighthouse Point beach in New Haven. A good number of 'old' families joined us, but we also had some families join us for the first time. Again, the age range was nice, with the youngest member of the Community Project being just five weeks old (welcome to the world, Martha), and the oldest girl at the gathering celebrating her 10th birthday (Happy Birthday, Jessica--hope you had a nice time at dinner).
After hanging out at the beach for almost two hours, most of us headed to IKEA for a kid-friendly dinner and more conversation. Its really great to see people connecting with each other and sharing information and child-raising experiences. I'm hoping this group is meeting everybody's needs for a sense of community in our area.
Thanks to all who came, and let's look forward to planning something else together in the next several weeks. As always, let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for ongoing activities.
